Glen Moray 7, Fino Sherry Butt - ARCHIVED
$95.00
Our tasting notes are as follows:
Color: Freshly polished copper
Nose: A beguiling melange of good fruit such as golden raisins and dried apricots, fruit cocktail cherries, cola syrup, penuche fudge, pickled walnuts, faint note of shittake broth
Palate: Rasberry chews, perhaps red wine gums, fennel seed, dark chocolate, nutmeg and freshly ground pepper, rich and creamy caramel, oily mouthfeel balanced off by notes of freshly ground cinnamon
Finish: Drying and interminable with notes of licorice, red wine gums and cinnamon
On the label: Mature beyond its years. A complex and rich fruity nose while oily and spicy in the mouth, leading to a pleasantly drying finish
Built as a brewery in 1831 the beautiful Glen Moray distillery was converted for whisky production in 1897. Standing on the banks of Elgin's river Lossie the distillery ranks among Scotland's most picturesque. Rarely found as a single cask bottling in the US, the house style is buttery and spicy with vanilla sweetness and a lovely, oily mouthfeel.
