This Single *Batch Nation offering, distilled in July 2016, saw casks #555, #558, #559, #560 vatted together and bottled in February 2022, producing 400 bottles at 56.1% ABV. Each new charred oak cask was 23 gallons and the fermentation used a bourbon yeast strain FSI-917 (rather than Black Button’s usual yeast strain).

Our tasting notes are as follows:

Color: Glistening Ruby

Nose: Oily entry with a pleasing dryness across the palate, notes of Italian almond cookies, maraschino cherries, gingerbread, and warm custard

Palate: The flavors explode across the palate demonstrating abundant drying oak with crystalized ginger, quite plummy with more dark chocolate, more dried fruits, toasted hazelnuts, and now walnut skins

Finish: Drying with lingering notes of ground ginger, ground pepper, firm oak, and a distant echo of cinnamon
