Our tasting notes are as follows:

Color: Sanguine copper

Nose: Dark caramel over raspberry and plum tarts, vanilla almond cake, chocolate cherry cordials, cinnamon chewing gum, cherry wood, cigar boxes, walk-in humidor, then fecund earthiness

Palate: Massive oils, effervescent, caramel wafers, fig bars, milk chocolate, cocoa butter, almond slivers, cola syrup, then peppery and oaky (drying towards the end yet somehow juicy)

Finish: Continues the juiciness from the end of the palate (rich, bursting berries), lingering spiciness (from the pepper and wood notes), and dark chocolate covered almonds

On the label: Rich and complex yet warming and pleasantly drying with pronounced oak, notes of caramel, creamy vanilla, all balanced by a distinct plum tartness

Built in 1836 and owned by the Grant family since 1865, Speyside's Glenfarclas distillery remains one of the last family owned distilleries in Scotland. Known for their consumer friendly pricing and dedication to producing top quality sherry matured whisky it's no surprise that both George Grant and his distillery have a loyal following among whisky fans. The distillery draws its water from Ben Rinnes and charges its six direct heated stills from twelve washbacks. Current annual capacity is 3.5 million liters of spirit.
