Thornton Distilling Co, New Charred Oak

This double cask bottling of Kosher for Passover American rum, distilled in December 2017, spent three years maturing in two new charred oak casks. Casks #9 & #10 were married together and bottled December 2020 and yielded 320 bottles at a cask strength of 56.6% ABV.

You can watch Joshua and Jason discuss this rum including an explanation of what Kosher for Passover means HERE.

Our tasting notes are as follow:

On the label: This rum bursts with aromas of butterscotch, sticky toffee pudding, and orange pound cake. Lovely rich texture with flavors of candied citrus fruit peels and carrot cake crust. The finish is robust and satisfying with notes of fruit cakes and charoset.
