Tasting Notes

NOSE: Baked apples and lemon zest with a little charred Oak, ground grey pepper, and cherry Wax Lips around the edges.

PALATE: Really pops with a cracked black pepper opening (that’s an active cask right there!) but also take note of the heather honey, shortbread cookies, white peaches and ripe apricots.

FINISH: The fruit lingers for a long time balanced by the cracked black peppercorns.

Description

The Lochranza distillery produces the “Isle of Arran” malt which is known for being very zesty and orchard fruit forward. This particular cask is well within that wheelhouse but the addition of apricots,
shortbread cookies, and white peaches make our cask quite a bit… moreish.
