Tasting Notes

NOSE: While it opens on rich notes of tiramisu and toffee apples the experience quickly becomes more woodsy (fir branches and pine needles) and earthy (freshly dug earth and warm potting soil in a greenhouse) before delving into freshly roasted coffee beans and red wine tannins.

PALATE: Mouthcoating and chewy with dried cherries, dates, shaved dark chocolate, espresso beans, and freshly cracked black pepper (really, it’s cacio e pepe) with a pleasing saltiness.

FINISH: Long and drying with lingering pepper, salt, and dark fruits.

Description

Independently bottled GlenDronoch is incredibly rare. Hen’s teeth really. Where IB GlenDronachs tend to strictly sherry casks, our GlenDronach was extra matured in an STR cask that was seasoned with PX sherry. The use of an STR cask adds layers of oak spice, pepper, and even some Christmastime pine.
