Tasting Notes

NOSE: Rich and sweet with chocolate covered toffee bars, toasted hazelnuts, toasted oats, coffee beans, and gingerbread.

PALATE: Rich and warming with ginger cookies, molasses, shaved dark chocolate, espresso, and Oak spice.

FINISH: The spice lingers and really warms the chest with notes of cinnamon, dark chocolate, and freshly shelled walnuts… becoming fudgey in time.

Description

The Knockdhu distillery produces the anConc malt. It’s also one of around twenty distilleries in all of Scotland that uses wormtub condensers after the distillation process. The wormtubs allow for a much heavier, oily spirit. Add 4 yrs of time in a Spanish Oak Oloroso Sherry cask and you’ve got yourself a very chewy Knockdhu indeed!
