Tasting Notes

NOSE: Candy necklaces and Smarties at first sniff with developing notes of stone fruits, almonds, and vanilla custard. In time there’s buttered brioche bread and café au lait.

PALATE: Delightfully oily with another round of vanilla custard and stone fruits accompanied by toasted wholewheat toast, warm granola, and candied ginger.

FINISH: Moderate length with a lingering sweetness. The barley, vanilla custard, and stone fruit notes remain.

Glen Spey is a distillery that's rarely on anyone's radar though we aim to change that! Owned by Diageo, the Glen Spey Distillery is known for making a very nutty style of spirit and that spirit character is front and center in this release. In fact, the final 7 years of maturation being in 1st Fill Bourbon only helps to amplify that delicious nutty characteristic while adding layers of vanilla custard and loads of stone fruits.
